Ah February 14.
The day that serves to many of us as a reminder to do something sweet for those we adore. It can be a day dedicated to the gifting of heart shaped paper, chocolates and flowers… or it can be something you put a little thought into. While we shouldn’t need a reminder to be good to our PICs, maybe we do?
After polling a few of our staff, a consensus took shape, many of us don't “celebrate” valentines day; however, we seem to use it as a trigger to take the time and do something special, in our own way, and THAT is something we can really get behind.
Or favourite way to enjoy a night out is by hopping around our city. We’d start with a cup-o-something hot from Coffeeco, followed by an outdoor ice skate (Kingston’s got lots of options). This is where you could go one of two ways: home to enjoy a lovely homemade meal & pop a few bottles, or continue exploring downtown Kingston via all of its wonderful dining establishments.
Sometimes nothing sounds dreamier than being looked after, aka no prep, no cleaning, no hosting required! We love to think that this can be done without breaking the bank; even on Valentine’s Day. We’ll be offering up a choose-your-own adventure-menu, with 3 shareable options + something sweet for 35. Of course, we will have a bountiful selection of beer (both on draft and in bottles!), beautiful wines, ciders and non alcoholic options.
Okay, and the ultimate dream for many of us: comfortable clothes, badass bottles, nibbles and maybe a warm blanket or two. Sometimes the best present may be to sit down and breath for a minute. Kingston Moksha is offering “bring-your-loved-one-for-free” which would be a lovely time! After class we’d suggest heading home to put your feet up with a good book and something fermented and delicious, may we suggest Natural Born Lover - Passionfruit sour wheat!
Lastly, for those of you celebrating GALENTINE’S DAY (if you don’t know this happen on February 13, we feel like its going to be a doozie this year!) There will be $5 beers in the tap room, all day long (11am-midnight).
